26 September 2014

The Mozambique's Confederation of Business Associations Confederation, CTA, celebrated its eighteen years birthday since its creation by hosting a gala dinner that was attended by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza and various individuals of the Mozambican private sector.

On that occasion, the head of state praised in his speech in his speech the role of the CTA in the efforts made for the improvement of the business environment, and showed as one of the salient things the deployment of tools to Mozambique customs that contributed to the facilitation of foreign trade.

The head of State referred to the Single Electronic Window - SeW, as a facility designed to facilitate foreign trade, that reduces the time and cost to clear goods through customs, with benefits to the private sector and as a complementary source for the financing of the CTA itself.

Similarly to other entities linked to several business areas and public services, in the same event, the SeW project received, through the Director General Customs, Guilherme Mambo, a Certificate of Merit Award for his contribution to the foreign trade facilitation in Mozambique.

In an interview, after the award, the Director General Customs emphasised the fact that the SeW has brought about several gains to the foreign trade, such as the reduction of the time to clear goods, the reduction of the distances, since all the processing of the documentations related to customs clearance for goods can be completed on-line with no regard to the geographical location do the trade operator. The Director General Customs extended the acknowledgement to the whole team of the implementation of the SeW as well as Mozambique Customs in general
