DGA visits the southern region

DGA visits the southern region

24 August 2012

Customs general Director

For three consecutive days, the General Directorate of Customs, headed by the General Director, Domingos Tivane, visited the cargo and vehicles terminals of the southern region, to prepare its staff for the initial use of new information and communications technologies.

Tivane learned about the level of preparation for the initial use of the SeW in those terminals and urged his managers for their participation in training, in addition to the employees under their management to ensure the comfortable use of the new clearance tool.

Since this is a nationwide process, including all stations and borders, visits were also made in the same way by the deputy directors-general, Miguel Nhane and Julio Nunes, to the central and northern regions of the country.
Note that so far, only the ports of Maputo, Beira, Nacala and Tete Customs benefited from the Single Electronic Window system. The introduction of the new clearance tool in Beira and Nacala corridor will boost transit of goods, using Mozambican ports and borders with a positive impact in state revenues.
