Where and how to get the reference and how much does it cost?

The reference is available at Mozambique customs, electronically through the SeW platform. Is automatic, immediate and free, that is, immediately after the successful submission of the application for UCR.

At what moment an UCR should be applied for?

The reference should be applied for before the start of any transaction for international trade, that is, before the start of the first act intended for the processing of the customs clearance for goods, since it should be mentioned in all transactions related to a certain consignment, such as for example, payment to commercial banks abroad, issue of licences or permits from the the Ministries and/or controlling agencies, issue of transport document or title of ownership of goods - consignment (such as the Bill of Entry, AWB, among others) and submission of the customs declaration.

Foreign trade operators through their representatives before customs.

What is the UCR used for?

It is used for all consignments of goods under Customs control.

What is the UCR for?

To be presented to the customs authorities and other entities involved in the customs clearance process when requested at any moment of the transaction or customs procedures.
To enable the facilitation and legitimacy of international trade by the customs authorities maintaining the levels of security necessary.
To enable an efficient exchange of information and statistics between Customs authorities.

What is the structure of the UCR?

The UCR reference is alphanumeric, where:

The first digit is reserved for the year (within a period of 10 years).
The following two digits indicate the ISO alpha-2 code of the Country (attributes the uniqueness at country level)
Followed by a number from 0 to 9 (attributes the uniqueness of the transaction)

What is UCR?

It is the number issued/assigned automatically by the system for all international commercial transactions, from the starting point, that can identify uniquely a given consignment, either at national or international level.

Where registration and subscription of a customs warehouse request can be submitted?

The warehouse operators should submit their requests at the General Directorate of Customs, at the headquarters of the Regional Directorates in the Center and North depending on the region where the operator is located.
